Hello everyone, before the year end and before my memory fades, i would like to recalled back on topic of Universal Ghost. When we said Universal means it will suit most of the system whether be like AMD or Intel it will successfully cloned with no blue screen, black screen or whatsoever.for this time we will not have screen shot, will fully written through out my remembrance.
Tools you need is just a clean Windows, prepared with some basic software, if the system already installed with driver also fine because we will sysprepping the Windows. Sysprep is actually Windows Tools include in System32 Folder to generalized Window system before cloning process.
Sysprep is Microsoft’s System Preparation tool intended to duplicate, test and deliver new installations for the Windows operating system based on an established installation. It is a command-line tool that can be run manually or through a script.
There are a 3rd party software like Ghost11 which function to clone or copy exactly between partition. But this tool will not remove any driver installed previously, so if you a clone Windows from a AMD system you won’t success to clone over Intel computer. So this sysprep to help to generalize the system. We still need Ghost11 to clone the generalized system. After sysprepping do not start the system . Run a Live CD like Hirens boot CD which included Ghost11 inside on the same computer with syspreped system and clone it. Later after clone is successfully copied. You can start the system and it will start a SETUP before go into the New Windows.
This sysprep and clone work on MBR Partition, haven’t tested on GPT Partition Style
What next is, if you syspreping the system for 2nd time on same computer you will face error like
Fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine
So the solution according technet Forum:
Setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\SysprepStatus to 7
Setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\SkipRearm to 1
Renaming (or deleting) C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\Panther
Make sure to do all three each time you attempt a sysprep.
Ok next we will have a tutorial on including Auto Driver inside See you next..
