Hard reset and flashing Oppo Joi R1001 after root damage and launcher crashed

This oppo joi r1001 was brought to us after  the touch screen randomly out of control, moving around and causing other being touched makes another stressed out.  This happened after our customer rooted the device.

So we had already done flashing the stock ROM and the upgrade to the latest Colour OS software OTA by offline method. and the problem persist and the launcher also randomly crashed, but finally we notice that after a clean upgrade, the previous data and cache should be wipe out from the phone memory by doing hard reset  If it wasn’t remove so that the new OS installed will use the previous data and this what caused the system crash. It also make sense you dont need to flash new ROM to solved this problem instead of tried wiping old data and cache, if unresolved then you can downgrade to stock rom and then upgrade to the latest software version:

Here we’ll discuss a quick step for flashing stock rom and upgrade doing hard reset to OPPO JOI R1001

So the tools you should installed on your computer before attempting the flashing process were:

1: CDC Pre load driver for mediatek mt65xx device

2: SP Flash Tool V5 latest version

3: Stock ROM firmware password: oppomobile.vn

4: Over The Air offline firmware R1001_11.A.16_OTA_INT_016_all_151103

(skip if you want to update via online)

SP Flash Tool v5 should  come in portable version so not need to installed.

preparing the SP Flash tool with MTK6572  scatter loading file that will mapped out the necessaries files required. Scatter file in txt format should be located inside the stock rom folder. MT6572_Android_scatter.txt

Advisable not to tick Preloader and Uboot if the problem wasn’t total dead.

The press Download button and let it remain waiting a device.

Now, the phone should be turn off if it wasn’t take out battery and reinsert

Press the volume Up button the connect the phone to PC via micro usb data cable.

Your PC will detect new driver, after it failed to locate any driver local and online, you have to manually installed the driver by locating the device through device manager, and it should be there an unidentified device with yellow annotation mark, right click and choose Update driver, locate the CDC Preloader driver folder, make sure you’ve extracted if it came with compressed version, wait for the installation finish.

after the driver fully installed the SP Flash tool should recognized the device and start to flash the software to the oppo phone.

if it failed to run, start over the step to connect the phone to the PC by:

First of all , press download button on the SP Flash Tool again, if the previous process terminate.

remove oppo phone from PC, disconnect the USB Cable, take out the battery and reinsert back

hold volume up while at the same time reconnect the USB from PC to the phone,

the SP flash tool shall begin downloading the software to the phone. wait until it pop out OK . then it safe to remove the phone from PC.

Turn On the phone and the installation process will start.

stock rom version (default factory version)

Then, to upgrade the stock ROM to the latest one via Over The air and offline mode

Download the latest firmware version of the r1001 from the OPPO Malaysia official website.

after successfully download copy the firmware to the OPPO phone memory or SD Card.

and you can perform update via the phone but choose not to over wifi but via local file.

And if you found problem like colourOS crashed, app crashed and problem persist, you can hard reset and wipe data and cache so that old data and user account totally removed.
